The Soundjacking Technique Explained - What It Is And How To Do It

TL;DR - The soundjacking method is where you take a tiktok trend, pay a few influencers to do that tiktok trend (but change it up a bit) and the only other change is getting them to use your song instead of the original.

If you’re looking to promote your music on TikTok, the most effective method is to use the Soundjacking technique.

The soundjacking technique refers to a system that I came up with back in 2020 which gained a bit of traction since I publicly posted it on Reddit. Since then, many viral artists have used my method to make their song go vial on tiktok.

This method basically involves 'hijacking' a tiktok trend by getting people to use your sound over an existing trend....If done correctly, it works like a charm!

How To Do The SoundJacking Method To Make Your Song Go Viral

Generally speaking, social media trends happen naturally. Soundjacking technique is basically where you FORCE your music into a new or existing trend.

A good example of the soundjacking technique is the Jet2 Holiday trend.

It might sound impossible / complicated, but you need to take over a small trend in a small niche / demographic.

1. Focus on targeting the right demographic

You need to come up with a list of at least 20 NICHE influencers who have a high likelyhood that their followers overlap (they have at least 25%+ the same followers)

A few reasons why I recommend this:

1. You have a higher likelyhood of reachgin the same viewers more than once
2. Inflate the popularity of the trend (make it seem like it is far more popular when people see it more than once)
3. If you can make the trend viral with a small group first, then people start copying and it will go mainstream faster than ever.

Example: I'm going to target male car enthusiasts aged between 19 to 23 in Melbourne City.

So find a list of these influencers and prepare to reach out to them.

2. Come up with a great trend idea

Try to identify a few trends that the influencers all partake in.

Next, you're going to have to create a copy of that trend but make it slightly different. It has to:

a) be easily recognized

b) appeal to a mainstream audience and....

c) Be easily replicated by other influencers

d) better than the original
